So long as you stick to your mantra that is ;)

I quite enjoyed the Force Unleashed. The second instalment is looking very promising as well.

As I read through that post on the barely tested site I got a flash back to a testing related incident a few months ago at work.

A director walked up to me while I was working on one of my projects and said "We have this new panel code that we need to send off to a customer in a hurry and I need you to test it... we really need this to pass" to which I replied "Why are you giving it to me then?"

Sure enough I tested it and I broke it (rather completely... about 20min into the test).
So the question presented itself. Did I actually succeed at my task?
The director wasn't pleased, the programmer that had written the code (we can't test our own code) was giving me weird looks for a while after that, and I was in the middle of this disappointing situation simply by doing what was asked of me.

I was told it needed to pass the test... did I succeed at my task?
Yes I did. The task was to test, to break it in any way necessary, possible or unexpected. If it is to fail it should fail in my hands and in my hands only. A director wanted it to pass but his expectations on this matter means nothing. I will not compromise. I test to destruction, if need be, for that is the task at hand. And that's why I was asked to do it.

The moral of the story was two fold:
Don't give me anything to test that you want to see pass on the first try (cos it won't)
Don't leave the testing to the last minute.

PS - The barely tested site needs some colour, way too much grey.

Gee I can't believe I really haven't thought of the last one!
I like RegressThis and ScriptAhontas (tho I'd go with Testahontas) and the last one, of course, heh. DoNotPanic is taken in all the different versions. I'll do a little poll at work based on these.
Cheers mate.

Same here (surprise, logic prevails). I'm wondering what they'll do in ME3 if you lost the majority of your crew. Probably we'll get a full new set of new chars again (yeeha!).

I've been thinking about getting Bioshock 2, but right now I'm kinda "Meh". Maybe later when it's a) cheaper and b) some time has passed since ME2. March is going to be a hard month anyway with so much good stuff coming.

You lose anyone in the ME2 finale? I suppose not Shepard, anyone else though?

Mass Effect 2 didn't fail to deliver.

Altho there are a few areas of the game that seemed to have been tweaked (with a sledge hammer) between ME1 and 2 the game itself didn't disappoint.

Played it through with 2 of my characters from ME1. The one were i let the council die (by accident... mostly) was somewhat darker. The one were the council lived on to ignore me another day made me feel like i should have let the gits die. But that's the beauty of a game were your choices have consequences, a trend that's picking up some steam with a few games recently (albeit slowly. Bioshock 2's take on the whole action & consequence was very well done tho I'm not about to say why or it will spoil the surprise if you haven't played it yet).

The one thing that seemed awkward about ME2 is that if your starting a New game without an import character the game makes some interesting assumptions.
- The council died: They weren't very likeable so i can accept that most people would have opted for this, if only by accident.
- Udina was left in charge: this one i don't get, the guy was a complete weasel with a hint of power hungry despot. Odd choice.

It will be interesting to see how all of this plays out in the third installment

Well that certainly depends on what you like. The Wire for intelligent, realistic cop drama. The Shield for action-oriented, not-as-intelligent, not-as-realistic cop drama. Veronica Mars for intelligent, ... err... I just like it, I guess. Heroes for the comic book fans. Sopranos for everyone with a little patience. Battlestar Galactica, of course. Dexter. Chuck.

Important: to be watched in English. It's too bad the US shows are often not aired at all in Germany or only very late, and you can only get the DVD copies late, too - so no Dollhouse for example.

Of course you can get some more casual stuff like House, Life, Boston Legal, and more weird ones like Pushing Daisies, My Name Is Earl, IT Crowd, Black Books, Dr. Who et al...
