Chilled out

Jarod | February 26, 2007

That’s what I did this weekend: I chilled out. Had to, after that kind of week. I watched Good Night, And Good Luck and the first DVD of Deadwood, Season 2. Deadwood is getting kinda difficult for me to follow, the story becomes more and more complex every show. Combined with the western slang, I sometimes need to switch on sub titles. It’s a shame, but what are you gonna do. Then again, there are sequences when all they say is Fkuc, making it considerably more easy to understand. Anyways, I’m curious how it’ll continue.

On Sunday, I had the round of my life. Battlefield 2: Project Reality, that is. Oh boy, my team spanked ‘em bad. I finished #1 – for the first time ever in an open game. Yeah, I’m proud, dangit. Probably, I’ll never manage that again.

Project Reality

Work-wise, we’re still knee-deep in work. A few more days to go, I think it’s gonna be cool.

Guilty Pleasure

Jarod | February 21, 2007

Today, I present to you: my slippers, aged six now. They are warm, they ring-a-ding-ding (at least the right one does) and they are the most ugly things you have seen – evah. That’s why I introduced the … chimes, as decoration. Not helping much, I guess … It’s all Anne’s fault anyway that I show them off here, why thank you dear.

My ugly slippers

PS. That weird movie there, Butterfly Effect – it’s really pretty cool, great stuff, although it had a happy end, and I didn’t expect that ;) . If you liked it, I so recommend watching Being John Malkovich in return. Thanks again, dear.

All ur data are belong to us

Jarod | February 18, 2007

As you can see, we now have a Data Protection Policy, thanks Germany. I hope you like it, err.

Syriana: So many people say it’s too complicated and that they couldn’t understand what’s going on. Eh? What’s not to understand? I like George Clooney, I like that movie. It’s very relevant. It has Alexander Siddig in it, too. Typecast, but when isn’t he.

The Aviator: Looong movie. DiCaprio. Now that’s a movie I didn’t fully understand. Great visuals. Great sets. DiCaprio always looks young in my eyes, I find it hard to believe his character (Howard Hughes) is 20 years older at the end of the movie. I dunno, not one of my favourites.

Carnival (again)

Jarod | February 15, 2007

It’s carnival season. And if you remember my post from last year you know that I’m not very fond of it. Okay, I live in Düsseldorf now, but that’s only moderately less intimidating than living through that hell in Cologne.

I’m looking forward to a long, hot shower and watching Alien versus Predator (thanks Anne!). That’s just the right movie for nights like these. It’s the fifth season. It’s my second year in this region. Maybe I’ll warm up to that crap in my fifth year. Or not.

…
PS. New York: The tickets arrived. I picked up my passport (d’oh I look stupid). Nothing can stop me now. 3 months to go!
